An Introduction to the Hotblooded Highland

Fergus is the original Hot Blooded Highland.  You can follow him on facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/Hotbloodedhighland.  He’s my little dressage star, currently competing elementary and working medium.   In the past, he’s played horseball, jumped and TRECed pretty successfully, and we still do stuff like this for fun.  He’s an alround good sort and a joy to have in my life, no matter how far we get – or don’t get – with this dressage lark.

Daemon Darach is his little brother, who is engaged in a valiant bid to share the title of “hotblooded highland”.  He crops up on this blog, and on Fergus’s facebook page.  Daemon loves to jump and, when he’s older, I hope he will event (at a low level, since I lack the balls for anything too substantial!).

Sometimes you may also see the flooffy one on here – Mr Jasper, my elderly cob who is now semi-retired as chief hack and general games pony.  He’s neither hotblooded, nor highland.  But never mind those technicalities…!

Updates for 2017, if I manage to write anything worth posting on here this year:

Fergus is still a medium level pony (I have this on the highest authority!) and is unlikely to go higher.  So we ditched dressage and took up polocrosse instead.  Totally rational, I know, but it’s huge amounts of fun!

Daemon’s now very much a big part of our antics – he’s now 7 and the only thing stopping us eventing this season is finances.  So he’s polocrossing and training for next year too.

Jasper, sadly, I lost a couple of years back.  We’ll always miss his hairy awesomeness.
